Join Our Bicycle Co-op Meeting!
Dear Collinwood friends, and Ohio City Bike Co-op Trustees:
We will meet at noon at the Ohio City Bike Co-op on Friday Feb. 29th to discuss preliminary plans for creating a Bike Co-op on Waterloo in co-operation with Northeast Shores. This will probably be housed in the "Blue Arrow Building" a ~6000 sq ft storefront, a couple of blocks east of the Beachland Ballroom.
Mike Sherman, who has kept his LCI registration current since our LCI seminar in 2004, will attend, and I have invited John Kelly, a bike mechanic who has expressed interest.
We need to resolve issues of finance, ownership, liability, staffing, and even programing, so we are looking for volunteers to help guide and work on this project.
We will make some vegan food, and have the heat on!
If you are interested in making a bicycle co-op in our neighborhood, please consider joining this early planning meeting. The Ohio City Bike Co-op is located at 1823 Columbus Road. RSVPs are appreciated! Please contact John Boksansky at jboksansky@northeastshores.org and let him know you plan to attend.

Obama Campaign Office locates on Waterloo Road
Yesterday, Northeast Shores entered into a short-term lease with the Presidential Campaign for Barack Obama. The northeast Cuyahoga County offices for the campaign is now located at our Blue Arrow Building, located at 16001 Waterloo Road. They will be occupying this space until just after the primary election on March 4, 2008.
We understand that this site will be a location for voters to pick up materials about Barack Obama, such as brochures and yard signs. We also believe that campaign volunteers will use this location as a staging area to call potential voters.
This lease arrangement is not an endorsement of any candidate and is strictly a business transaction. We control vacant space in our commercial district and they need temporary space. We are willing to make similar arrangements with any other candidate for our remaining vacant space on Waterloo Road.
Also, please note that any board member or staff member of Northeast Shores working on any presidential campaign is doing so in their personal free time. The witnessing of anybody associated with Northeast Shores working on a political campaign during non-business hours is not an endorsement by Northeast Shores of the candidate and is a personal decision of that employee or board member.
