Waterloo Arts and Entertainment District celebrates its rich past

Yesterday, the intersection of East 152nd and Waterloo Road was named Frankie Yankovic Square. Yankovic, the Polka King, learned how to play polka near that intersection.

The naming of the square feeds right into the rich musical heritage of the street. Just down the street from Frankie Yankovic Square is the Beachland Ballroom, which is the best musical venue in the region.
