Northeast Shores volunteers at Church Council Food Pantry

Yesterday, the staff of Northeast Shores worked at the Church Council Food Pantry on Lakeshore Boulevard. We spent the morning and early afternoon packing bags for needy families in the community. About 25 families came into the food pantry while we were there volunteering.

Each of the staff worked their stations as we packed bags with all kinds of good eats. Needy families received many essentials including apple juice, beef stew, ground beef, noodles, pancake mix, spaghetti-o's and more. For the holidays, each family also received candy canes and a chicken.

During slow moments, we restocked shelves for what looks to be a busy week at the pantry. We also unstocked donated food.

The volunteer activity was in lieu of a holiday party this year. Before volunteering, we all went to breakfast. Everyone enjoyed working together and helping those most in need this holiday season. We enjoyed serving the community so much, we are already planning our next food pantry day!
