Come out and support our community gardens

HOLLY GOLIGHTLY GARDEN PARTY TO BENEFIT THE NORTH SHORES COMMUNITY GARDENS PROJECT

Friday, November 14, 7:30 pm

Please join British chanteuse Holly Golightly for a concert to benefit the North Shores Community Gardens project, the development of community gardens in empty lots where condemned homes are being demolished by the city of the Cleveland and reclaimed. The project is to be managed by Northeast Shores Development Corporation, the local development corporation in the Beachland neighborhood. Tickets for the event are $20 per person and include a pre-show meet and greet with Holly Golightly, plus the live performance of the acclaimed songstress, who was famously featured on the White Stripes track "It's True That We Love One Another" from the Stripes Elephant release.

Her new album Dirt Don't Hurt is a mixture of electric country blues, folk and silky rock & roll. It brings to mind evenings on a dusty front porch with your faithful hound, cracked hearts and foot stomping good times.
For tickets, please call the Beachland at 216-383-1124. If you are not able to attend but would like to support the creation of a community garden in the North Shores community, we will gratefully accept your $20 donation. Presented as part of the Green City on a Blue Lake initiative.

Baglady wants to know where you are going to get all that new top soil? Urban farming is becoming a success and Collinwood has some open spaces to grow. Will they be gardens only until the economy develops and then a building will replace the garden? Are gardens place holders for higher use? Think about this so that when the garden is plowed over in the future, the back lash won't haunt the ground. Look at how America feels about the loss of farm land. Plan for the future now. How long will the garden grown. When will it out live it's usefulness?
