We want to give a big, big thanks to the City of Cleveland Building and Housing Department for their efforts to remove some of the most blighting elements in the neighborhood.
First of all, the city demolished the ugliest, most blighted home in the neighborhood. The ugly home previously located right at the bend on Shiloh is now history!
If the demolition of the ugliest house in the neighborhood wasn't enough reason to celebrate, the city followed that effort up with the demolition of the half-built condos on Lakeshore Boulevard and East 143rd Street. While it is disappointing that Rysar Properties wasn't able to finish the new homes, water and ice damage to the existing framing over the last two winters sealed the structure's fate. The city tore down the framing earlier this week, which removes a very obvious blight at the neighborhood's western entrance.
Thanks again to the city for improving the appearance of our quality community.
